In this article, the authors disclose the specifics of such small genres of Astrakhan folklore as proverbs and sayings that differ in inclusiveness, i.e inclusion with the everyday life of the inhabitants of the region, and historical determinism. In the array of existing proverbs and sayings, the authors singulate and analyze two groups: proverbs and proverbial markers that form the image of Astrakhans in the Russian expanses, and mini-texts, created on the Astrakhan territory and reflecting the specific nature and special features of the multinational population of the Volga Ponizovie.
