During the last 20 years after the disintegration of the Soviet Union on the southern borders of Russia repeatedly flashing international and inter ethnic conflicts among Transcaucasian states and also serious social-economical problems in the states of this region led to the mass-migration flow-out of the population from the southern Caucasus to the Russian Federation. That`s why xenophobia and conflict situation have increased in the southern regions of Russia. Illegal mass-migration have led to the aggravation of the criminal situation in the region. Illegal migration also has an extremely negative repercussion for the Russian economy and in particular for the economy of the South of Russia. There is analysis of the tends and prediction of the direction of the situation.
