Yakushenkov Sergey N., Yakushenkova Olesya S.

Annotation

Originating in ancient times, the Chinese state was formed in cooperation with the neighboring nations, who dwelt at the periphery of the Han ethnic group. As a result of these contacts and often in the course of Chinese expansion to the boundaries of the Middle Kingdom, a special zone appeared that was defined in the literature as the frontier. The authors try to apply some of the Turner’s principles of the frontier theory to the Chinese history. The main attention in the article was paid to the laws of image formation of frontier ethnic groups. According to the authors, these images are formed according to the traditional patterns, which are based on behavioral norms Stranger: its nutritional culture, sexual preference, appearance, clothing, etc. The article shows how these general patterns that are common to many nations of the world, are combined with a number of specific philosophical paradigms, which found its expression only in the Chinese approach to the Stranger.
