The goal is to point out some key points in the history of Russian geopolitical and cultural influence in the iranic area through the XX century, developed by revolutionary spirit of the new soviet state. In the context of the Russian revolution and civil war, can be seen how the relationship between the new multinational state and its vast politic periphery: the national states of the near and fat east will be the new field of confrontation between the emerging socialist power and the western world. In first place the near east around Caucasus reatains its vital strategic value, so a further developement of the “great game” that charachterized the relations between Russian and British Empire through the XIX century.
