The reflection of the past on the present and the future is investigated. The key moments of social phenomena and events that construct the catastrophic consciousness of society are described. As a result, the work presents catastrophic events in the form of various disasters that entailed social changes that change the course of events in people's lives. The author comes to the conclusion that for many centuries catastrophic consciousness has had a direct impact on public and mass consciousness, which subsequently shaped various future events.
