Annotation

The article deals with topical issues of modern Russia. The role of the Russian Orthodox Church as a social institution is revealed. Based on the sources, the author analyzes the attitude to the state, as well as the spiritual and moral values that underlie Russian society. The article reveals the position of the Russian Orthodox Church on the most acute social problems, such as social inequality, artificial termination of pregnancy (abortion), the formation of stable family relations and value orientations, and personal education. The article also provides data from sociological studies that illustrate the attitude of citizens to various social phenomena. The conclusion is made about the need for an authoritative social institution for the further development of the country.
