Annotation

Artistic imagery is inherent in all types of design, but it is especially pronounced in interior design. It was originally natural for a person to decorate their home, and each specific historical period demonstrated t he features and style specifications of the use of artistic images in the interior space, which has its own geometry and time characteristics. XVII century in Russian culture has become a turning point and a peculiar situation when “new and old mixed”, reflected on the interior of homes, first of all, on the interior of the homes of the Russian nobility. In this regard, the author of the article is interested in the role and specificity of artistic imagery in the chambers of the first Romanovs and its representation in the photo reports of the anniversary issues of the magazine “Rodina” for 1913.
