EVENT TOURISM AS AN ELEMENT OF THE REGIONAL CULTURAL POLICY (on the example of Astrakhan Region)

Annotation

In the conditions of market economy culture becomes a real segment ofthe economic relations, the services sector directed to satisfaction of needs of the population. The state’s cultural policy is aimed at the primary development of those directions which not only satisfy needs of the population, but also bring income. Tourism as dynamically developing industry is a revenue of the budget. Influence of tourism on the development of region is large. Mastering tourism industry, the region develops transport, communication, hotel business, banking services, increases revenues of local producers. One of the most important directions of implementation of cultural policy in the Astrakhan region is preservation of cultural heritage, and tourist activity becomes one of the directions popularizing this unique heritage. The rich potential existing in the area for travel business allows to develop many directions. Revival of interest in the ethnoconfessional cultures of the region promoted emergence of the new direction of tourist activity - event tourism, representing an interactive form of receiving new bright impressions. Toanalyse cultural policy in the sphere of event tourism and to reveal the capacity of this direction for the region is the purpose of this article.
