Annotation

This article is devoted to the analysis of alcoholic traditions on the territory of Russia and to revealing the degree of their influence on the formation of the cultural image of our country. Since the cultural image of the country is set by means of many intra-state cultural processes and phenomena, the authors of the article believe that the Russian culture of drinking, which has its distinct specific features and centuries-old history, influenced the Russian cultural image to a large extent. In this regard, the authors focus on the history of origin and the reasons for the transformation of the most popular alcoholic traditions of modern Russia, which, to some extent, reflect the specificity of the country's cultural image.
