Specificity of relations of prisoners of wold wars with the local community (through the example of Astrakhan region)

Annotation

On the territory of Astrakhan region (Astrakhan province - during the First World War, the Astrakhan district / region - during the Second World War), thousands of prisoners were housed. Inevitably becomes a contact with the population. Local residents, most of them, treated them with sympathy, showed concern and compassion. This “peaceful” Astrakhan relation to the prisoners confirmed by various sources (archival documents, periodicals, memoirs of eyewitnesses). Their study and analysis allows you to see the features of typical and special in a complex system of relationships with the local community of prisoners of war, reflected the polar emotions to the “prisoners of war” from sympathy to hatred, in various regions of Russia. The article aims to study the humanitarian aspects of military captivity. Note the authors focused on the everyday household problems of war, interpersonal relations in the course of employment, relations with the local population including women.
