The article examines the search, selection and analysis of modern concepts of civil society. The civil society concept is widespread. Civil society played an important role in the post-Communist transformations in the former Communist countries. The concept of civil society became is most significant concepts of modernity. Its interpretation throughout history has been transformed and diffusion. Contemporary interpretation and understanding of civil society has emerged long ago and were dictated by the requests and values of the European society. The civil society studies problem in unilateral approach to its study and categorical impede his understanding and the efficiency of construction. The modern concept has a practical orientation and ideological content. The article analyzes approaches to the interpretation of civil society, common in contemporary science and practice: expanding-value, civil activation and communicative, institutional, control and restrictive, protest, political, globalization-supranational. The concepts difference by two blocks: ideologisation and functionally (joint) communication.
