The article discusses the concept of the political role of intellectuals, invited the famous Italian political philosopher Norberto Bobbio, reveals the origins of this concept; shows historical circumstances responsible for its elaborations, debate and discussions that prompted thinker to problem statement the problem of the role of intellectuals. The Bobbio’s concept role of the of intellectuals in politics proposed in his book «Politics and culture» (1955), is a coherent, philosophically sound concept, relevant to this day. The purpose of Bobbio in this book is to present intellectuals as «people of culture» and to justify the provision according to which intellectuals are the protagonists and defenders of culture, can be solved by scientists as a response to the various ideas and theories that put the developments of a culrure dependent on political goals and imperatives. The concept of intellectuals nominated by Bobbio, derives from his political views and justify them: thus, on the basis of assumptions regarding the role of intellectuals in politics is democratic liberalism advocated thinker in discussions with the Communists.
