Annotation

Article is devoted to the work of urban defense committees of the Lower Volga region, aimed at solving problems of the population and living during the Great Patriotic War. The features of the solution of the food problem by introducing rationing, the organization of collective farm trade, the development of a network of institutions catering and strengthen the role of decentralized blanks. Shows the activity of the city defense committees on the organization of medical care and control of epidemics in the region, to ensure the operation of utilities and social assistance to the families of service members, disabled, factory workers, and children. Attention is paid to the peculiarities of the solution of social problems of the Stalingrad area during the fighting on its territory and after their completion. Work city defense committees of the Lower Volga allowed to weakeneveryday difficulties of the population. However, a substantial improvement in their daily lives and prevented military conditions caused them difficulties in financial support of social development in the region and the country as a whole.
