Annotation

The problem of society's attitude towards people who are not like the others has always been topical. Society does not accept people with a different way of thinking, different appearance, beliefs and way of life and sexual orientation. For society these people are strangers, but the principles of tolerance forcethe society to find an approach to those members of the society who are not similar. It is well known that many European countries are developing and implementing programs of tolerance towards migrants. Most Western countries are characterized by their tolerant attitude toward gay members, what can not be said about Russia. Adoption of a law banning promotion of homosexuality in Russia caused a heated debate worldwide. As a result, gay members are afraid of going to our country. Many athletes and show business stars supporting the LGBT movement refused to take part in the Olympic Games in Sochi. Around the world in varying degree there is homophobia. And, of course, gay members in show businessare under scrutiny, and it is sometimes the most difficult thing to hide such relationships, although some say it openly, which causes different effect on their popularity. The authors of the article study people's attitude to “alien” in modern society in different countries, as well as consider the specifics of the "alien" according to the country in which he is located. An important aspect of positive perception of "alien" is an attempt to consider him as an "other" that is the foundation of a tolerant attitude.
