RUSSIAN POLITICAL MOVEMENTS OF CRIMEA AND SEVASTOPOL: RESOURCES OF INFLUENCE, POSITIONING, ACTIVITY’S AGENDA

Annotation

Established resources of influence and practices by Russian political movements in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city on the eve of integration into the Russian Federation. The composition of the Russian political movements in the region, their positioning and activity’s agenda (2009 - February of 2014) is determined. Resources influence of these movements are: the population of the ethnic group, the strength of its linguistic and religious identity, compact arrangement, the predominance of regional and local government organs. Prevailing practices by Crimean Russian movements are: direct forms of pressure on the government (demonstrations, rallies, pickets); lobbying through regional and local authorities; discussions in the media. Activity’ agenda includes topics: political status of Crimea, ethnic and religious equality, linguistic balance, representation in government and self-government organs, land policy. Revealed a balance of ethnic, linguistic, confessional cleavages in this regional community.
