The concept of «impurity» in the writings of the African apologists

Annotation

The material for this study was the legacy of theologians, who lived in North Africa in II–IV centuries: Tertullian, Minucius, Arnobius, Lactantius. It is they who created the Christian the basis of a special type of religious-philosophical syncretism, which led to the disintegration of the Church into Eastern and Western branches and which is crucial for the whole epoch of the middle ages. The subject of study – options for use of “Africans” purgamentar images. Goal – the establishment of appointment of the reception. The article concludes that a special emotionality of the authors of the texts of reports peculiar expressiveness; hence connected with it an abundance of semantic contrasts and antithesis, many of which are built on the basis of the opposition “righteous – sinful”, “net – dirty”.
