The paper aims to explore the implementation of the governors of the opposition political parties of housing policy, to identify its compliance with the ideology and program provisions of the relevant parties. The study tested the features of the implementation of the housing policy of the Governors of the CPRF and the LDPR. Consideration of the governors in the housing policy is of interest due to the fact that the level of governors – is one of those levels of government, to which the political parties in Russia could have a significant impact. Comparative methodology made base for the study. The study showed that members of the opposition parties in the gubernatorial positions in Russia were not agents of their parties in the implementation of the housing policy. Among the original regional programs run by Communist governors on housing policy initiated at the regional level, we can distinguish the program of the Vladimir region, «Social Housing», «Development of low-rise building».
