Sanctions of the EU countries have not gone completely beyond the economy of all countries: a drop in the purchasing power of Russians, a reduction in jobs in Europe, large financial losses for the European economy. The modern geopolitical situation exerts its influence not only on the world economy and politics, but also on such a sphere of activity as tourism. The article analyzes the changes that have occurred in the tourism market of the Russian Federation and their possible impact on the development of tourism in the Astrakhan region. The text notes a drop in demand for tourist trips abroad and an increase in the popularity of domestic tourism in Russia. In this regard, the development of regional tourism, including the tourist sphere of the Astrakhan region, becomes particularly topical.
